Melasse should be added while wetting the groundbait. It sweetens the groundbait and add to it very nice aroma and flavor. It is rich in sugar therefore its binding properties help to prepare appropriate groundbait mix while river fishing. While wetting it should be diluted with water in proportion 1:1.
